David H., Content Design Manager

by

When I joined as Linda’s manager, it was clear that she was deeply strategic and had long-standing system knowledge in her portfolio of work on Central Product Platforms. In our first 1:1 she shared deep history and context on what was going well, what needed support, and major risk areas she saw in the product and on the team. While she ended up taking another role in IG, I got to witness this deeply strategic approach during her transition plan.

The documentation she put together for replacement was the most thorough and helpful transition doc I’ve ever seen in my career. It outlined key partners, product roadmaps (past and present), historical context, advice for the new CD, and even had a separate/private note that included her candid thoughts about what the team needed. This allowed me to onboard much faster to the space, hire the best manager to oversee this scope of work, and still benefits the existing manager and IC that work in her past role. Given we are a centralized team, our work is incredibly complex—especially for new hires to Meta. Linda’s ability to synthesize and communicate those complexities continue to benefit CPP Content Designers.

I will also note that when Linda officially left CPP and joined IG, I was struck by the amount of people/partners that had a higher view of content design because of her impact on them. This set me and my team up for success as we worked to build new relationships with XFN and Eng partners.
